Fatmagul is the famous lead character in the Turkish soap opera "What is Fatmagul's Fault?" The soap opera became a popular TV series outside of Turkey in Arabic countries, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and in the Balkans. "What is Fatmagul's Fault?" topped all programs in Kosovo in 2012.
"What is Fatmagul's Fault?" was based on a Turkish novel and made into a movie in 1986. The story is about Fatmagul, a village girl and her quest to bring to justice the three rich and influential men who raped her. Turkish actress Beren Sarat played title role with Engin Akyurek who played Kerim, Fatmagul's husband who supported her cause. The series ran from 2010 to 2012.
