Architectural plans for farmhouses generally do include porch designs. The porch is integral to the general idealized concept of country living. Porches can be featured in the front or back of the farmhouse or even wrap around the entire structure.
Porches are often added to the second level of the house to afford privacy or what is termed a bedroom view. Porch accessories include benches, swings, and sets of tables and chairs. In fine weather, porches are transformed into secondary dining areas. Farmhouses are designed to integrate and complement the surrounding natural environment in which they are constructed. They are most often painted white so that they can be seen from a distance from hill to hill in the countryside.
