"The Wizard of Oz" is a classic 1939 movie which begins with a tornado sweeping away a Kansas farmhouse. A girl named Dorothy and her dog, along with the house, crash-land on top of a witch in the faraway land of Oz. Glinda the Good Witch appears to take a pair of ruby red slippers off the dead witch's feet and place them upon Dorothy's. The Wicked Witch of the West appears to claim the shoes and spends the rest of the movie trying to obtain them, but Dorothy eventually throws a bucket of water on the witch, causing her to melt. Dorothy then recalls something Glinda the Good Witch tells her, and is able to get home by using the ruby red slippers.
Samantha Stevens is a main character on the comedy television series "Bewitched," which ran from 1964 to 1972. Samantha is a witch married to a human architect named Darren Stevens. She uses her witch powers to assist her family with their everyday problems.
