Some of the most famous Asian Americans are known for their work in the entertainment industry. Some work in the film industry, such as Ang Lee, who won the Academy Award for Best Director twice, for his work on "Life of Pi" and "Brokeback Mountain." Asian American actors have achieved fame as well, such as Ken Jeong, known for his roles in films, such as "The Hangover," and his TV series "Dr. Ken." Other famous Asian American actors include George Takei, known for the "Star Trek" series, and Pat Morita, famous for his role as Mr. Miyagi in "The Karate Kid."
Asian Americans have also achieved success as athletes. Jeremy Lin, a member of the Charlotte Hornets as of Nov. 16, 2015, became hugely popular in 2012 as a member of the New York Knicks. As one of the first Asian American basketball stars, Lin became enormously popular in the media, with a wave of popularity dubbed "Linsanity."
