Oktoberfest takes place in Helen, Georgia, and is the longest-running Oktoberfest celebration in the United States. For six weeks a year, from the middle of September to the first week of November, the town celebrates Bavarian culture with traditional Marzen brew and German-style bands.
The Georgia Apple Festival takes place in the cities of Ellijay and East Ellijay. The event features over 300 vendors with handmade, hand-crafted items, as well as many on-site demonstrations of how selected types of crafts are made. There is an antique car show held at the Civic Center and a parade in downtown Ellijay.
The Blue Ridge Blues and BBQ Music Festival is a one-day festival held in the town of Blue Ridge. Local and regional barbecue experts prepare food, and the festival features live performances throughout the day.
Gold Rush Days is a celebration of the Georgia Gold Rush, the first in American history. The event draws over 300 arts-and-crafts exhibitors. The festival lasts two days and includes a parade, children���s activities, a fashion show and a gold panning contest.Learn more about Art & Literature
