"Faith, Love, Time and Dr. Lazaro" is a short story written by award-winning Filipino writer Gregorio Brilliantes. It won second place for the short story category of the 1960 Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature.
The story is about a country doctor named Dr. Lazaro who questions his belief in God as he deals with life, sickness and death almost every day of his life. His son, who he hoped would follow his footsteps in medicine, wanted to enter the church. It tells the readers that while people focus on physical needs, there is also great need to nourish the soul with faith and hope.
