Environmental Graffiti is a British blog dedicated to providing bizarre and interesting news about the environment. The blog was created in 2007 and has since expanded to provide news about anthropology, history, art, pop culture, science, sports, technology and travel.
Environmental Graffiti was founded by Chris Ingham Brooke, who is also founder of Scribol. The official link to the blog, EnvironmentalGraffiti.com, now links to the more expansive Scribol blog. The sites are both designed with the intention of tailoring suggestions to the viewer.
According to the "What's Scribol" page on the website, publishers are provided with an advanced algorithm to provide the audience with articles and content that thematically match the content on which they spend the most time. For example, if a person reads multiple articles about dogs, the site is likely to suggest videos and content about dogs. The intention is to develop a trusting audience while redirecting traffic to the authors and publishers posting content on the blog.
The official Facebook page for Scribol claims to provide news for people who don't take themselves too seriously. Since their founding, both Scribol and Environmental Graffiti have been an inspiration to many blogs, including Urban Ghosts, founded in 2009.
