Is the Endymion Ball a Black-Tie Affair?

The Endymion Extravaganza, the Krewe of Endymion's official ball held immediately after the parade is open to those who purchase tickets and has a black-tie dress code. On ball invitations, the dress code specifically indicates that long, ankle-length evening dresses for women and black ties for men are required.

In 2015, two female couples were admitted to the ball after being briefly detained because one woman in each couple wore a tuxedo, contrary to the officially published rules.

In 2015, the price for a ticket to the Endymion Extravaganza was $180, and the organization sold 17,500 tickets to the event. Alcohol is not provided at the ball, but guests can purchase food on-site and can bring food or alcohol with them.

The Krewe of Endymion also has a formal coronation ball just for members about one month before the parade, which is also a black-tie event.
