El Nuevo Herald is the largest daily Spanish newspaper in the United States and is the sister newspaper to the Miami Herald. El Nuevo Herald provides local news coverage and news on the Caribbean and Latin America. The newspaper company has its headquarters in Miami, Florida.
As of 2014, El Nuevo Herald has more than 48,000 print subscribers. The McClatchy Company owns El Nuevo Herald, while the Miami Herald Media Company manages ElNuevoHerald.com. El Nuevo Herald began publishing under the name El Miami Herald in 1975 and relaunched under its current name in 1987. The paper originally published translated stories to supplement the Miami Herald. As of 2015, El Nuevo Herald is a stand-alone paper and makes editorial decisions independent from the Miami Herald.
