When Did Eddie Kendrick Pass Away?

Singer Eddie Kendrick died at the age of 52 on Oct. 5, 1992, due to complications from lung cancer. Kendrick had one of his lungs removed in late 1991 to prevent the spread of the disease, but his cancer returned the next year.

Kendrick was survived by his three children, Parris, Airka and Paul. As a co-founder of The Temptations, Kendrick provided lead vocals on songs such as "The Way You Do the Things You Do," "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)" and "Get Ready." In 1999, the Eddie Kendrick Memorial Park opened in Birmingham, Alabama, in his honor.
