Peyton Manning met his wife Ashley in the summer of 1994, and after almost seven years of dating, the couple married in 2001. They had twins on March 31, 2011. Ashley encouraged Peyton to keep playing football after he had to miss the 2011 season due to injuries.
Peyton met Ashley Thompson through her neighbor, a former football player for the University of Tennessee who hosted Peyton when he visited on a recruiting trip. Peyton and Ashley began dating before Peyton's first season at the school. The couple was married March 17, 2001.
The couple keeps their personal lives private, and Ashley requested privacy when they had their twins, Marshall Williams Manning and Mosley Thompson Manning. The news was eventually made public, and since then the twins have been seen playing with Peyton multiple times.
Neck injuries caused Peyton to miss the 2011 season, and he considered retiring. The only team he had played for in his National Football League Career, the Indianapolis Colts, released him after the season. Although he was at peace with the idea of moving on from football, Ashley told him he had to try playing again. He continued his career, signing with the Denver Broncos and moving there with his family.
