Bill O'Reilly married Maureen McPhilmy on Nov. 2, 1996. In 2010, the couple separated, and in 2011, they divorced and initially agreed to share custody of their two children. In 2012, McPhilmy filed for full custody of the children after claims that O'Reilly violated terms of the divorce agreement.
McPhilmy has full custody of their two children after a three year custody battle, as of July 2015. During the custody case, reports surfaced that O'Reilly abused his wife during their marriage. According to court documents, O'Reilly's 16-year old daughter told authorities that she witnessed her dad drag her mom down a staircase by her neck. She also made reference to his temper and to the fact that he was never around to form any sort of relationship with her.
Since their separation in 2010, McPhilmy has accused O'Reilly of several acts of harassment against her. In 2010, McPhilmy began dating Jeffrey Gross. Outraged by the situation, O'Reilly reportedly ordered an internal affairs investigation against Gross and attempted to get McPhilmy excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church.
Accusations of harassment are not new for O'Reilly. In 2004, O'Reilly faced a sexual harassment lawsuit. He settled the lawsuit on Oct. 28, 2004, for an undisclosed amount.
