Dobson and Williams attended Biola University, a private Christian university in La Mirada, California. Williams was a senior in 1993 and assistant manager of the women's soccer team in 1994. Dobson was a team manager for the women's soccer team that year and graduated from the university in 1995.
Dobson states that the couple bought a house shortly before the divorce. Due to the laws in California, they split assets after the divorce, which led to his loss of money.
Dobson remarried in 2005. Dobson and his new wife, Laura, have a child together named Lincoln Cash.
