As of September 2014, "ABC World News Tonight" anchor David Muir remains unmarried with no known girlfriend. In 2014, People Magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive. Celebrity news website TMZ labeled him "the Brad Pitt of news anchors."
A multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awardee, Muir was born in Syracuse, New York on Nov. 8, 1973. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree magna cum laude from Ithaca College and joined ABC News in 2003, where he covered prominent news stories such as Hurricane Katrina, the BP oil spill, the Arab Spring in Egypt, the tsunami and Fukushima power plant disaster in Japan, and the famine in Somalia. Muir took over hosting and editorial duties on "ABC World News Tonight" from Diane Sawyer in 2014 and also co-hosts the TV news magazine show "20/20." He holds honorary doctorate degrees from Ithaca College and Northeastern University.
