Step sheets are written instructions for performing choreographed dances. They are usually associated with country line dancing, but can be adapted for any type of dance in which all performers move in unison.
Step sheets are usually headed with the title of the dance. Underneath the title is a description of the dance, including the number of counts and the number of walls. Counts are the number of beats it takes to complete all the moves of the dance, and walls are the number of 90-degree turns in the dance. Following the description is a list of steps in the dance. Each step begins with a range of counts, followed by the step the dancers perform during that period.
