Mickey Guyton, Sam Outlaw, Annie Bosko and Mo Pitney are country artists that debuted in 2015. Country bands that debuted the same year include The Deslondes, Old Dominion and Native Run.
Born in 1983, Mickey Guyton was motivated to begin a singing career after hearing LeAnn Rimes sing at the beginning of a Texas Rangers game. Guyton signed with Capitol Records Nashville in 2011 and recorded the album "Unbreakable" three years later. She performed her song "Better Than You Left Me" at the Grand Ole Opry on Jan. 10, 2015, and broadcast it and the music video two days later.
After realizing his life wasn't what he wanted at his 30th birthday party, Sam Morgan opted to dispose of most of his possessions, adopt his mother's maiden name of "Outlaw" and pursue a country music career in Los Angeles. His song "Who Do You Think You Are?" is described as having a "unique mariachi-meets-countrypolitan vibe" by Rolling Stone magazine.
The Deslondes were formed after college friends and band mates Cameron Snyder and Sam Doores met Riley Downing at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Oklahoma. Sitting around a campfire, Doores was inspired by Downing's songwriting; at the same time, Downing learned to sing harmony from Doores. Soon thereafter, they recruited John James Tourville and Dan Cutler and started the band.
