Chris Wragge is a news presenter who works as the co-anchor of “News This Morning” and “News at Noon with Mary Calvi” on CBS 2, as of 2015. He has won 18 Emmy awards during his career, of which three were in the category for the best news anchor.
His first television appearance was as a reporter on “48 Hours” in 1991. After that, he moved on to work as the anchor for the nightly sportscasts on WVIT-TV and a reporter for NBC Sports, where he covered the Olympic games and professional sports leagues, such as NBA and WNBA, spending four years as the sideline reporter for NBA broadcasts and two years with the WNBA. He became the Sports Director and anchor of “News2Houston,” which aired on KPRC-TV. During this period in his career, he also covered the PGA Tour as the on-site correspondent for “PGA Tour Sunday,” which was the leading broadcast partner of the PGA Tour until 2006.
In 2006, he became the news anchor of “CBS2 News at Noon” and “CBS News at 5 PM,” on which he worked with Kristine Johnson. During this period, he reported on events such as the Brooklyn tornado of 2010, the presidential elections of 2008 and Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to New York. He also covered the recession of financial markets in 2007 and the scandal that resulted in the resignation of Eliot Spitzer, the former governor of New York.
