If there is no corresponding channel lineup for the address you enter, the Charter Communications website asks you to choose a state. This features allows users to peruse channel lineups in any state and city that Charter Communications provides services to.

After choosing the state and region, you can filter results by a multitude of categories across Charter Communications' three main tiers of service: Select, Silver and Gold. The three tiers of service have anywhere from 200 to 500 channels each, depending on the region. Select is Charter's basic package, with local broadcast stations and local government channels.

Channel categories in the upper two tiers of service include pay-per-view and on-demand, digital music, Latino view and premium channels, such as HBO, Cinemax and Showtime. Most of the basic channels are only available in standard definition, while customers with Silver and Gold service enjoy high-definition alternatives for most channels.

As of 2015, Charter Cable's broadband map encompasses some 4,000 cities and roughly 30 million subscribers in 29 states, with the majority of coverage in California, Missouri and Michigan. California alone accounts for about 4 million of Charter Communications' subscribers.
