Charles Krauthammer used a wheelchair because he was paralyzed in a diving board accident while attending Harvard Medical School. Krauthammer was only in his early 20s and was confined to a wheelchair since the accident. Krauthammer passed away of small intestine cancer on June 21, 2018.
Political commentator for FOX News, Charles Krauthammer lost the use of his legs when he dove headfirst into a pool, hitting the bottom and damaging his spinal cord. After his recovery, he continued his education and graduated Harvard Medical School in 1975 and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. A licensed physician, Krauthammer was a columnist and author and won the Pulitzer Prize for his work in journalism.
