The most prominent cast members in the Fox TV series "Bones" are Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, Michaela Conlin, T.J. Thyne, Tamara Taylor and John Francis Daley. As of 2014, all of these actors had appeared in 140 or more episodes of the show.
Emily Deschanel's character, Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan, is the central figure in the series; she is a forensic anthropologist for the fictional Jeffersonian Institute Medico-Legal Lab. Generally speaking, each show revolves around an FBI case focusing on the discovery of mysterious human remains. David Boreanaz's character, FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, leads the investigations and seeks the assistance of Dr. Brennan in solving the case. Booth, as he is referred to in the show, approaches the cases via a criminal investigation technique. Bones and her team, in the meantime, approach the crimes via scientific discovery. A unique dynamic between Booth and Bones provides both comic relief and character insight during this hour-long TV drama on Fox.
The year 2015 marks the 11th season of the series. "Bones" is very loosely based on the life, work and writings of a forensic anthropologist named Kathy Reichs. The working relationship in "Bones" between the Jeffersonian and the FBI is also supposed to mirror the real life relationship between the FBI and the Smithsonian Institution.
