The first 2015 season of "Dancing with the Stars," season 20, included athletes Michael Sam and Nastia Liukin as well as musicians Patti LaBelle, Ryker Lynch and RedFoo. Combat veteran Noah Galloway, television and movie stars Suzanne Somers, Willow Shields, Robert Herjavec, Chris Soules and Rumer Willis, and model Charlotte McKinney rounded out the cast.
Professional dancers who were paired with celebrities for season 20 in 2015 included Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Sharna Burgess, Peta Murgatroyd, Artem Chigvintsev and Emma Slater. Long-time professional cast members Tony Dovolani, Mark Ballas, Derek Hough and Kym Johnson also competed in the season. Allison Holker, Witney Carson and Keo Motsepe were among the newest professionals to compete in season 20, with Carson attempting to defend her win from season 19.
Some of the themes for season 20 were "Latin Night," with Latin-themed dances, music and costumes; "Most Memorable Year," where the celebrity contestants chose songs that reflected the most memorable year of their lives; "Disney Night," which featured Disney songs, themes and costumes; and "Eras Night," which assigned each couple a decade from which their dance, music and costumes were based. Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy were crowned champions of season 20 and received an anniversary edition Mirror Ball Trophy in gold.
