Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, or CBC/Radio-Canada, television shows are available online from the CBC website, YouTube and TV.com. As of March 2015, CBC's most popular shows include Heartland, Murdoch Mysteries, Republic of Doyle and Being Erica.
CBC is Canada's national public broadcaster. It has radio, Internet and television platforms, which are fully-integrated.
It started as Radio-Canada, with its first broadcast on July 1, 1927. However, CBC/Radio-Canada did not begin in its current form until the Canadian Broadcasting Act was passed in 1936. Thereafter, CBC News Service and Radio Canada's news division were formed on January 1, 1941. CBLT-Toronto and CBFT-Montréal, the first CBC television stations, began broadcasting in 1952. CBC achieved its Web presence in 1995 with the launch of CBC.ca and then integrated its platforms in mid-2009.
