Teletoon airs original and imported animated and live action programming. The channel operates in two blocks, one in the morning and one in the evening. Teletoon's morning block airs animated programming intended for children and young teens, and the night block airs shows and movies for older teens and adults.
In 2011, Teletoon began airing several live action shows, such as "My Babysitter's a Vampire" and "Mudpit." As of 2015, its live action series include "Jamie and Jon" and "Fred at Night." In March 2013, Corus Entertainment took full control of the network, and it changed the programming to mainly air Cartoon Network shows.
In September 2015, Teletoon acquired classic cartoons from its counterpart network, Teletoon Retro. "The Flintstones," "The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show," "Inspector Gadget," "Tom and Jerry" and "The Jetsons" are some of the classic cartoons featured on the channel.
As of 2015, Teletoon and its night block, Teletoon at Night, feature shows such as "Pokemon," "Power Rangers," "Avengers Assemble," "The Mighty Hercules" and "The Dating Guy." Teletoon at Night also shows live action movies, including "The Goonies," "Chronicle" and "Edward Scissorhands."
Teletoon launched in 1997. Its original license stated that 90 percent of Teletoon programming had to be animated. Since 2013, the channel became available to over 7.3 million Canadian households. Teletoon offers all its programming in English and French.
