Ricky Van Shelton, one of country music's biggest stars in the late '80s and early '90s, was an immediate success. His first two albums, "Wild-Eyed Dream" and "Loving Proof," went to number one on the country charts along with a majority of those records' singles, including "From a Jack to a King" and "Hole in My Pocket". After losing some of his commercial appeal in the early- to mid-'90s, he wrote the children's book "Quacker the Duck" and set up his own record label.
