The Vicksburg Post is the local newspaper for the Vicksburg, Mississippi, area. Journalist and publisher John Gordon Cashman established it in 1883. The Post purchased its major competitor, the Vicksburg Herald, in 1925, becoming the sole major source of news for the area. As of 2015, the Vicksburg Post publishes a daily newspaper as well as a Sunday edition. The Cashman family, decedents of the newspaper's founder, still own the paper, as of 2015.
