Non-airbrushed fashion model images are available in Aerie clothing catalogs, in Make Up For Ever ads and in Darling magazine. These "no retouching campaigns" are part of companies' efforts to show that everyone has flaws. Many magazines notoriously airbrush flaws on models in order to create a more marketable image.
Aerie is American Eagle's line of lingerie, and their catalogs do not eliminate models' tattoos, beauty marks or wrinkles. The idea is to encourage their young, female demographic to embrace who they are. Their no retouching campaign is also intended to show young girls what girls their age actually look like. Models of all sizes are used on their website to show girls of different shapes what the products will look like on their body types.
