Better World Books has many drop boxes for used books across the United States. To find one, go to the official website, click Donate in the menu at the top of the page, and click Individuals. Use the map to find a drop box closest to you.
If there isn't a drop box near you, donate used books locally. Salvation Army collects donated goods for homeless shelters and for sale in their stores. To find a drop-off location, go to the Salvation Army website, choose Ways You Can Help, and click Clothing, Furniture and Household goods. Put in your ZIP code to find a drop box near you. If you have a lot of books, you can request a free pick-up.
To find a Goodwill donation location, go to their website, mark the Donation Site box, and enter the name of your town. If you have a lot of items, some Goodwill stores may be able to pick them up. In addition, Goodwill offers donation drives each year, during which people can drop off their items at locations such as stores and college campuses.
Most libraries accept book donations, so call your local library to find out where and when you can donate.
