There has not been an official biographical or autobiographical publication on Lieutenant Joe Kenda as of 2015, but there are many biography websites on Kenda available online. Kenda is a retired Colorado police detective. "Homicide Hunter" on Investigation Discovery is a documentary television series that showcases his career.
Lieutenant Kenda grew up in Herminie, Pa., graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1968 and moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where he began his career as a police detective. After more than two decades as a policeman, Kenda retired in 1993. He narrates, unscripted, "The Homicide Hunter," a documentary-style true crime show outlining some of the homicides that he solved. The show debuted in 2011 and is slated for another season in 2015, the fifth in the series.
Kenda was involved in 387 murder investigations during his career. He solved 92 percent of them. Although he prefers to talk about his work than himself, biographical information may be best attained by watching the series. He says, "I am no different on the show than I am in person," reports Diablo Magazine in an exclusive interview. Full episodes, the current programming schedule and more information about Kenda can be found at Investigation Discovery online.
