The original theatrical version of "Caligula" does not have an MPAA rating, but the producers state that it is not appropriate for viewers under the age of 18. An R-rated version of the film cuts out some of the explicit content, but this version is still inappropriate for viewers under the age of 17. As of 2015, the unrated version of "Caligula" is banned in some jurisdictions, including the entire country of Australia. The unrated version has only been legal in the United Kingdom since 2008.
