The Pike Logan series of books includes "One Rough Man," "The Callsign" and "All Necessary Force." In total, as of July 2015, there are 13 books in the series published between 2011 and 2015.
Brad Taylor, the writer of the series, served for 21 years in the U.S. military including Special Forces. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, having commanded multiple troops and squadrons. His last assignment in the military was as an Assistant Professor of military history at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. He resides there currently with his wife and two children.
The author has created his protagonist, Pike Logan, based on many people with whom he served. Brad Taylor is adamant that he is not Pike Logan, but rather has witnessed, during his time in the military, the type of miracles his character performs. The author explains that what he includes in his books is realistic but not necessarily completely accurate. Some of the tactics, techniques and procedures are secret, and to describe them completely accurately would aid the enemies of the United States. While Brad Taylor has always had the desire to write, he didn't start until his last position, where he finally had enough time.
Readers can purchase a signed copy of one of Brad Taylor's books by contacting Blue Bicycle Books, a Charleston book store. The store sells the requester the chosen book and then has the author sign it when he's in his hometown.
