TumbleBooks creates enhanced picture books containing music, sound, narration and animation. As of 2015, storybooks and chapter books are available on TumbleBooks, although the chapter books are not animated. The site also offers puzzles, games and language-learning resources, according to the TumbleBooks website.
TumbleBooks incorporates books from publishers such as HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Candlewick Press, Orca Books and Charlesbridge Press. Books are available in English, French and Spanish. National Geographic videos aligning with Core-Curriculum standards are also included in the program. With a subscription, the program can be accessed from a home, school or library using a computer, tablet or mobile phone.
TumbleBooks currently offers two subscription packages to libraries and schools: TumblePremium and TumbleDeluxe. TumblePremium lets users access almost 1,000 titles for grades K-6. It contains two Common-Core portals, one for English and one for Math, to help teachers use the titles to fit Common-Core requirements. As of 2015, TumblePremium also contains an extra 16 graphic novels, 92 e-books, 90 read-alongs, 125 videos and 45 non-fiction books.
TumbleDeluxe does not have these extra features. This subscription comes with 550 titles and contains the English Common-Core portal. TumbleBooks does offer schools, libraries and consortium discounts if certain criteria is met.
