Zane is the author of multiple works of erotic fiction, including "Purple Panties," "Shame on it All Again," "Love is Never Painless," "Breaking the Cycle" and "Afterburn." Other books by Zane include "Gettin' Buck Wild," "Skyscraper," "Nervous" and "The Sisters of APF," in addition to "Total Eclipse of the Heart," "The Heat Seekers," "Shattering the Myth" and "Addicted." She is also the publisher of Strebor Books International, and she has contributed multiple essays and short stories to various anthologies.
Zane is the pen name of African American author Kristina Laferne Roberts. She published her first novel, "Addicted," in 1998; it has since been adapted as a motion picture. Her work consists of primarily erotic stories and personal sexual memoirs, and she has a large following of devoted fans who refer to themselves as "Zaniacs."
Many of Zane's works have made the New York Times Best Seller List. She also holds three out of five titles for bestselling fiction novels in Essence magazine and received the Black Expressions Book of the Year award three times. She is the no. 1 bestselling author of the Black Expressions Book Club and the recipient of the Blackboard Fiction Book of the Year award. She grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, where she continues to reside with her three children.
