Bobbi Brown is a professional makeup artist who created her own line of cosmetics called Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. She is also the author of eight books about makeup and beauty, and also works as Beauty and Lifestyle Editor for the radio show "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show" as well as for "Health" magazine.
Bobbi Brown was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1957. She moved to New York City in 1980, where she began working as a professional makeup artist. During a time when bright colors were the norm, she stood out for her use of moderate, natural tones. Her goal was to enhance what was there, rather than create an artificial look. While in New York City, she worked with photographers Bruce Weber, Bridgette Lacombe and Patrick Demarchelier.
She released a line of lipsticks in 1991 under the name Bobbi Brown Essentials. The lipsticks were first launched at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City, and were already a hit on their first day of business. The line continued to see great success and was bought by Estee Lauder in 1995, though Brown retained all creative control of the line. She opened up her first freestanding store in New Jersey in 2007.
