The black Spider-Man is Miles Morales, a half-African-American, half-Hispanic teenager who has taken up the mantle of Spider-Man in Marvel's "Ultimates" series of comic books. He was created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli.
Morales grew up in Brooklyn, New York and was bitten by an OZ-infused spider when visiting his uncle. Shortly after, he realized he had gained several superpowers such as camouflage, the ability to cling on walls and increased agility. At first, Miles just wants to live a normal life. However, after the real Spider-Man dies trying to save his family from the villain known as Green Goblin, Miles decides to step up and put his new powers to use protecting people.
