Raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, Stephanie Abrams is a career meteorologist who has worked for both the Weather Channel and NBC News. Abrams first gained a Bachelor of Science in geography from the University of Florida - Gainesville before achieving a second degree, a B.S. in meteorology from the University of Florida - Tallahassee.
Abrams both bachelor programs with honors. While at Gainesville, Abrams was also a member of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority, where she briefly presided as chapter president. Like many other meteorology students at Tallahassee, Abrams first practiced her forecasting skills on university radio broadcasts. She also acted as a teaching assistant.
Abram's first professional opportunity came as a morning meteorologist for the ABC affiliate in Tallahassee, WTXL. Abrams joined the Weather Channel's ranks shortly afterward in 2003, where she served as co-host of her first program, "Weekend View." Between 2006 and 2009, Abrams worked on several other programs, including but not limited to "Abrams and Bettes: Beyond the Forecast," "Weather Center" and "Wake Up Al," the latter with veteran media personality Al Roker. Abrams has also played herself in film, particularly in a cameo in the 2014 sci-fi disaster lampoon, "Sharknado 2: The Second One."
