Born in Vernon, British Columbia, Randene Neill is an anchor and reporter at Global BC. She anchors the weekend news program “News Hour,” as of January 2016. She and her husband live in East Vancouver. Her pets include Homer and Eileen, who are both are three-legged dogs. She has adopted other animals from Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, including a tomcat and a Rhodesian ridgeback.
Randene Neill attended University of British Columbia and British Columbia Institute of Technology. Prior to anchoring “News Hour,” she anchored the program “Noon News Hour” on Global BC. She also used to contribute and report for other newscasts. She has said that she enjoys the fast paced nature of daily news production and that meeting new people on a daily basis is the best part of her job.
Neill says that the proudest moment of her professional life was when she covered the news of a patient for a health story. The patient was in need of special medical procedure, and her story got people’s attention. She says that many came forward and offered support, and as a result the patient could get the treatment needed. Personally, she says she enjoys tennis, soccer and spending time with friends.
