The first floor of Biltmore House includes a solarium, which is an indoor winter garden, a banquet hall, a 5,000 square foot library, a billiard room, a music room, a den, a smoking room, a reception hall and a breakfast room.
The top two floors, as one might expect, are primarily bedroom suites. Both floors also have living rooms. The bottom floor of the house was mostly the servants' area. It includes two kitchens, a servants' dining room and an extensive laundry in addition to some miscellaneous work and storage rooms. Also found in the basement of Biltmore House are a swimming pool, a bowling alley, and a room known as the Halloween Room that was used exclusively by the Vanderbilt's daughter and her friends. In total, Biltmore House has more than 125,000 square feet and 250 rooms.
