Beyoncé only allows photos to be taken during live concert appearances by a professional photographer who is hired by her management team. Beyoncé did not grant any photo credentials to the press during her 2013 Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.
Professional photographer Frank Micelotta was hired to take photos and distribute them to the press after each show. Photographers were banned after the singer’s publicist made an unsuccessful attempt to have BuzzFeed remove posted pictures of Beyoncé at the Super Bowl, which she believed were unflattering. Though cameras were not allowed, fans could still take photos using their cell phones.
