Some of the many episodes of the television show "Barney and Friends" available on VHS format include "Playing it Safe," "Treasure of Rainbow Beard," "Alphabet Soup," "When I Grow Up" and "Carnival of Numbers." In addition to episodes of the series, several Barney specials were released on VHS, including "Barney's Halloween Party," "Walk Around the Block With Barney," "What a World We Share" and "Let's Go to the Zoo."
As of 2015, Amazon.com has over 80 Barney titles for sale on VHS tape; most are specials released during the 1990s. Over 1000 VHS titles are available for purchase on eBay. While some sell for under $1, select collectible tapes in new condition sell for over $200.
The "Barney Classic Collection," released in 1999 on four VHS tapes, contained "Barney's Alphabet Zoo," "Imagination Island," "Once Upon a Time" and "Barney's Sense-Sational Day."
"Barney and Friends" premiered on television in the United States on PBS in 1992. During 14 seasons more than 250 episodes were produced and broadcast in over 220 countries and territories. The show produced more than 85 home entertainment titles, including 46 direct to video titles, and sold more than 85 million DVD and VHS units in the United States alone.
