Located just north of Charlotte in Huntersville, North Carolina, the Carolina Renaissance Festival features jousting exhibitions, an artisan marketplace, live music, variety entertainment and costumed street performers. The event also offers Renaissance-themed food, such as turkey legs, stews and roasted nuts. Alcoholic beverages, including craft ales, are provided for sale.
Introduced in 1996, the Carolina Renaissance Festival takes place on Saturdays and Sundays in the fall. Held on a 25-acre theme park, it is one of the nation's largest Renaissance festivals. Twelve stages provide all-day entertainment, including circus acts, magic routines and comedy performers. The event also includes rides and games of skill.
