Lawyer and journalist Ari Melber was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. As of 2015, Melber is Chief Legal Correspondent for MSNBC, covering issues concerning the Justice Department, the Supreme Court and the FBI.
After graduating high school in Seattle, Melber studied political science at the University of Michigan and received his law degree at New York’s Cornell Law School. He practiced law from 2009 to 2013.
In 2013, Melber joined MSNBC as host of the program, “The Cycle.” Melber has guest hosted several MSNBC shows, including “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell,” “The Rachel Maddow Show” and “Hardball.” Melber also writes about criminal justice for several publications, including The Atlantic, Salon and the New York Daily News.
