The popularity of Arabic television programming and music continues to grow, and some Internet entertainment services now provide a variety of sports, music and other live broadcasts, states TV Net Solutions.
News channel Al Jazeera is arguably the Arabic station best known to Americans. Launched in 1996, Al Jazeeraﾒs reporting style and news coverage quickly became controversial both in the Middle East and around the globe. The stationﾒs treatment of political practices and other sensitive issues in the Middle East and elsewhere gave rise to Al Jazeeraﾒs reputation for objective reporting. Some news agencies in the West and the United Kingdom, however, believe Al Jazeera to be a mouthpiece for Arab regimes, according to Allied Media Corporation.
