Aphrodite is one of three goddesses that competed for the favor of Paris. Once Paris declared her fairest of the three, she rewarded him with the love of Helen of Troy. According to mythology, this led to the Trojan War.
Aphrodite was married to Hephaestus but had many affairs. These affairs produced several children, the most famous being Eros, also known as Cupid.
