Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot" follows four explorers searching for the mythical creature. The Bigfoot Field Researchers Association president, Matt Moneymaker, researchers James Fay and Cliff Barackman and field biologist, Ranae Holland, star in the show. "Finding Bigfoot" premiered on Animal Planet on May 30, 2011.
As of December 2015, the four explorers have searched thousands of miles of territory in 38 states and eight countries. In recent seasons, the BFRA has travelled to Brazil's Amazon rain forest, Caddo Lake in Karnack, Texas, Whitehall, New York and the International Cryptozoology Museum in Maine. The group uses infrared cameras and night vision aids, in addition to speaking with people who may have witnessed a sasquatch sighting. A recent episode has the explorers questioning if Canada or the United States is official home of the elusive beast with the vote split between the two.
