"The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin" is a 2014 Philippine comedy film about a soldier who guards a child genius. It stars Vice Ganda, James Aquino, Richard Yap, Alex Gonzaga and Tom Rodriguez.
The movie is a sequel to the 2011 film, "The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin." Comedian Vice Ganda reprises his role as soldier Benjie Santos VIII, who rises from private to colonel after defeating a group of terrorists and saving the country. However, blinded by success and fame, he commits a serious mistake on the job and faces dismissal. To redeem himself, he accepts a new assignment to become the body guard of a spoiled brat, Bimbee, played by James Aquino, whom he later discovers to be a lonely boy deprived of family love, just like himself.
As of 2015, the sequel holds distinction as the highest grossing Filipino film ever with total earnings of P440 million. Despite its box office success, the film received mixed to negative reviews. One critic described it as a brainless and utterly ridiculous comedy, while another called it a cheap, tacky and nonsensical film. One positive review defended the film by saying that it was a light and funny comedy perfect for the holiday season. The film was produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films.
