Alan Jackson owned Sweetbriar, a 19,000-square-foot mansion located in Franklin, Tennessee. Jackson sold the property for $28 million in May 2010. One month later, Jackson and his wife purchased another mansion in the same Nashville suburb for $3.675 million.
Sweetbriar is located at 1301 Moran Road in Franklin, Tennessee. The mansion was built in 1997, and Jackson and his family lived there for over 17 years. Sweetbriar consists of six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Amenities include an aerated lake with boat house and three ponds, an in-ground swimming pool, home-theatre room, gymnasium, a 20-car garage and even an airplane landing pad.
Jackson listed the estate for $38 million, but ended up selling it for $28 million to Willis Johnson. Johnson is the founder and chairman of Copart Inc., whose 11.4-percent stake of the company is worth $340 million. In September 2010, Jackson is also reported to have sold his riverfront vacation house outside Nashville to country music singer Kenny Chesney for $1.4 million.
