Mary McDonnell stars as Captain Sharon Raydor of the Los Angeles Police Department. Raydor heads a detail within the LAPD that focuses on high-profile crimes.
"Major Crimes" is a spin-off of another TNT network drama, "The Closer." The series begins as the protagonist of that show, Brenda Leigh Johnson, leaves LAPD and Captain Raydor is chosen as the new head of the Major Crimes division. Raydor must gain the respect of the members of the Major Crimes division in order to continue closing its cases. The full cast includes G. W.
