Actress Jane "Ruth" Negga, born in 1982 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. is the most awarded actor from Ethiopia as of 2015. Best known in the United States for her roles in "World War Z," "The Samaritan" and "Breakfast on Pluto." She has won three awards and has five other nominations.
In 2006 Ruth Negga won the EFP Ireland's Shooting Star Award at the Berlin Film Festival. In 2012, Negga won the Best Actress in a television series award from the Irish Film and Television Awards for her role as Shirley Bassey in the show "Shirley."
In 2003, at the age of 18, Negga won Most Promising Newcomer at the Olivier Awards in London. She also had a small, uncredited role in the Academy Award winning film "12 Years A Slave."
