"Longmire" is a crime drama series that follows the sheriff of a Wyoming county, Walt Longmire, and his staff as they deal with criminal cases and local politics. The 2014 season centered around the shooting of Deputy Branch Connally, the aftermath and the arrest of Henry Standing Bear.
Plots in the "Longmire" series frequently deal with relations between the town and the nearby Native American reservation, focusing on conflicts between the two rival law enforcement agencies. Another long-standing story arc deals with the murder of Walt Longmire's wife and the subsequent death of the killer, a secret that threatens both Longmire and his close friend Henry Standing Bear.
At the conclusion of the 2013 season, Henry Standing Bear was arrested for his involvement in the murder plot and Branch Connally had been shot by a man believed dead in the community. Connally's psychological deterioration following the incident as well as Standing Bear's struggles to redeem his place in the community are the focus of much of the 2014 season. The season also features some significant revelations about Longmire's past and the revelation of multiple conspiracies inside the small rural community.
At the end of the 2014 season, A&E cancelled "Longmire." However, Netflix quickly picked up the fan-favorite drama series, renewing it for at least one more season.
