loco, adjective:
insane, mad; crazy

Loco is one word you can use to refer to someone who is insane:

Al final se volvió loco.
In the end he went mad.

You also use loco more informally in some phrases to mean crazy:

¿Estás loca?
Are you crazy?

Está loco si piensa que lo voy a ayudar.
He must be crazy to think I’m going to help him.

If you’re a great fan of somebody or something, loco is also the word to use, in the phrase volver loco, literally to drive crazy:

El flamenco la vuelve loca.
She’s crazy about flamenco.
